Drawing inspiration from a diverse spectrum of artists ranging from Kanye West and Wande Coal to Jpegmafia and Burna Boy, Rivers refuses to confine himself to a singular style, opting instead to weave a tapestry of sonic innovation.
“King Jaja” showcases Rivers’ distinctive sound, blending local Igbo chants, soulful chords, and southern African rhythms to create an immersive backdrop for his introspective lyrics. The track pays homage to King Jaja of Opobo, a revered figure in southern Nigerian history, embodying themes of determination and resilience in the face of adversity.
Produced and penned by Iver Rivers himself, King Jaja is the culmination of his foray into African music, marked by gospel-infused harmonies and eclectic drum patterns.
